Warwick's Pilgrim High Remote Due To Covid Outbreak

Pilgrim High School in Warwick is staying remote for the rest of the week because of a COVID-19 outbreak.

A spokesperson for the Rhode Island Department of Health says about 25 cases among students and staff have been identified, and that over half of them reported attending the school's homecoming dance.

The state health department is holding a COVID testing drive at the school on Wednesday.

The news from the Warwick school comes on the heals of a new state report on covid.

Rhode Island reported six new coronavirus deaths over the weekend.

The pandemic death toll for the Ocean State as of Monday's update was two-thousand-896.

Rhode Island reported nearly one-thousand new virus cases.
