Lifespan Network Required Covid Test For Most Visitors

Lifespan is requiring proof of COVID vaccination or a negative virus test for hospital visitors.

The new policy takes effect next Monday.

The test has to be a PCR that was administered within 48 hours.

According to the statement. "Visitors will need to show a picture ID and proof of vaccination or results of a negative COVID PCR test administered within 48 hours of their visit. Exceptions will be permitted for end-of-life visitation, escorts for patients with disabilities, parents and caregivers of pediatric patients, birthing partners and in other designated circumstances at the discretion of the clinical care team. 

Lifespan's network includes Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's Hospital.
