Providence To Stagger Restart Of School

In Providence- School officials say it will be a staggered start Monday to restart the school year for in-person learning.

Officials say Pre-K, kindergarten and grades 1, 6 and 9 will go Monday January 3. For grades 2, 3, 7, 10, 11 it will be Tuesday, the 4th. And then for grades 4, 5, 8, and 12 - Wednesday, January 5.

Testing is not required for return to class. But officials say it is suggested.

Meantime, the Governor is expected to host his last Covid briefing of the year where he will tell reporters that there is no plan for virtual learning. The intent is to go with in-person learning across the state.
