State Legislature Considers Ban On Nip Bottles

It looks like they are going to have the debate over nip bottles in the Rhode Island General Assembly soon.

A bill by State Rep David Bennett has filed a measure.

The State Rep told the Providence Journal that the nips promote drinking and driving among other things.

Meantime, it is the same argument . Proponents say it would clean up litter and discourage drinking. Opponents say that it would send business to Massachusetts where you can still buy the nip bottles.

The measure, besides Bennett has eight co-sponsors and has been sent to the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee for review.
