Rhode Island Partnership Seeks To Take Illegal Guns Off Streets

The New York Governor Kathy Hochul says she wants to take illegal guns off the streets and has formed a task force to figure out how to make that happen.

Hochul says too many lives have been lost on the streets of New York in the last year to illegal firearms.

The Interstate Task Force on Illegal Guns will be a partnership of state officials from Ohio, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.

They will work with the NYPD and Mayor Eric Adams.

They will all share intelligence and strategies on how to slow the trafficking of illegal guns into their states.

New York State Police say they took over one-thousand illegal guns off the streets in 2020 alone.

Rhode Island Officials have yet to speak about the partnership.
