Rhode Island Ready For 18 Inches Of Wind Driven Snow

There's a winter storm watch in Rhode Island for an intense coastal storm that forecasters say could produce blizzard conditions.

The National Weather Service now says eight-to-17 inches of snow is possible with winds gusting to 60 miles-per-hour.

Snow is expected to arrive late tomorrow night and continue all day on Saturday.

Parking Bans are in effect now in Woonsocket.

The Providence Parking Ban will kick in early Saturday morning.

In Warwick- officials spent much of the day meeting on their preparedness. Officials there say they are ready---with plenty of plow drivers available to them to handle the 54 different routes that need to be plowed.

The Utility companies are expected to pre-position crews just in case they are needed to deal with power outages.
