Blizzard Warning Ends- Travel Ban Stays In Rhode Island

The blizzard warning is canceled for Rhode Island with blowing snow to taper today.

The National Weather Service confirmed yesterday that blizzard conditions had been met in Providence, Newport, Block Island and Westerly.

Accumulation numbers from around the state topped out at 25-inches in Warren. Newport and Providence both got hit with 18-inches.

In terms of snowfall, it was the fourth largest snowstorm ever to hit Providence.

Governor McKee meantime is urging everyone to be patient. The cleanup will take quite a bit of time.

The State Travel ban will remain in effect until at least midnight tonight.
