Gas Prices Soar And Could Go Higher

Rhode Islanders are on alert for increasing gas prices being caused by the war in Ukraine.

The average price for a gallon in the Ocean State is currently three dollars and 58 cents, according to RIGasPrices.com.

That's an increase of about twenty cents from a month ago.

President Biden said on Thursday that the U.S. and other countries will release emergency oil barrels from their reserves to mitigate the spike in the cost of gasoline.

Russia is one of the world's leading oil producers.

Among local stations, about the lowest price out there right now for a gallon of gas is $3.29 a gallon.
