It appears that Dave Cox, the former head coach of the University of Rhode Island men's basketball team will become one of the new assistants at the University of Maryland. That according to InsideMDSportsMaryland. New coach Kevin Willard is adding to his staff, but he is not naming names because contracts have not been signed yet. Cox was fired as the URI head coach last week.
If Cox does go to Maryland, it will be a bit of a home-coming. Cox still has ties to the area and the 48 year old former Rhode Island Coach will be concentrating on recruiting in that area including DC and Pittsburgh. Cox was an assistant coach at Rutgers and Georgetown.
There has been no indication as to when contracts will be signed and announcements will be made.
