Providence City Player Turning Head In Majors

A former Providence high school baseball player is off to a hot start to his Major League Baseball career.

Jeremy Peña was a standout at Classical High School in the mid-2010s.

He is a native of the Dominican Republic.

In sixteen at-bats with the Houston Astros this season, Peña has six hits and one home run.

He is batting 375.

He was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle in his second game.
