Doctor Jha: No Major Disruptions If Another Surge Comes

The new White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator is confident that the U.S. can get through a BA.2 case surge "without any major disruptions."

Appearing on CNN's State of the Union, Dr. Ashish Jha noted that COVID-related hospitalizations are at their lowest levels of the pandemic.

However, he stressed that health officials will continue to watch the numbers in case hospitalization and death rates increase.

Medical experts have been concerned with a surge ever since states and local communities have dropped masking requirements.

Meantime, Dr. Jha predicted a vaccine for children under five could arrive in the next couple months.
