States across the region are warning licensed professionals that include doctors and dentists of a scam that is targeting those fields.
The scammers use public license information to contact professionals and inform them that their licenses are suspended because of federal drug investigations.
The Connecticut Department of Public Health has the latest warning. They say the agency would never contact licensees to seek money or personal information.
Licensees who receive these types of calls are asked to contact the Federal Trade Commission.
