Parents Want Principal Out After Mishandling Security Issue

A group of parents gathered Thursday morning calling for the dismissal of the principal at Nathanael Greene Middle School in Providence.

They say he mishandled a lock down last week by calling an administrator first instead of the police when a member of the staff spotted a student with what appeared to be a gun.

Providence Police were in fact outside of the school, unaware of the issue.

They were there on an unrelated security issue.

Mayor Jorge Elorza called the incident unacceptable.
