Coventry Man Sentenced In Bay State Shooting

A man from Coventry has been sentenced to 12-to-15 years in prison for shooting at police in Massachusetts.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says Eric Lindsey pleaded guilty to charges including armed assault with intent to murder and carrying illegal firearms.

Back in 2018, prosecutors say Lindsey broke into an Attleboro church on Newport Avenue and was sitting inside with a gun when he was spotted by the pastor.

Lindsey left the church, and then fired at two officers who attempted to detain him.

Neither member of the Attleboro Police Department was hit. Lindsey suffered serious injuries.

A second gun and multiple ammunition rounds were allegedly found in two backpacks in his possession.
