The Rhode Island Supreme Court is stopping the Woonsocket City Council from potentially removing Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt from office.
The high court has scheduled a conference to review the matter on September 22nd.
A complaint had been filed by City Council member Denise Sierra, who claimed the mayor violated her duties, including not submitting financial reports monthly.
The council was scheduled to discuss the complaint at a meeting on Thursday night.
