Driver Shortage Leaves Students Behind In Some Communities

Some Providence high school students are being impacted by an interruption in Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus service.

RIPTA says it is facing a critical shortage of staff necessary to maintain daily service.

Buses used to bring students to Alvarez, Central, Classical, Hope and Mount Pleasant high schools did not run on Wednesday morning.

Passengers are being advised to allow extra time in their commutes to account for delays or missed trips.
