Astros Win World Series- Providence's Pena MVP

Houston is in celebration mode after the Astros won the World Series for the second time in franchise history.

The Astros topped the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in Game Six to clinch the title.

Yordan Alvarez slugged a go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Houston to the championship.

The team will host a party later on today, outside Union Station at Minute Maid Park.

Jeremy Pena, the Providence product by way of the Dominican Republic is the series MVP. He is only the third rookie to earn the honor.

Livan Hernandez was the last rookie for the Florida Marlins back in 1997.

Before that it was way back Larry Sherry with the Dodgers in 1959.

The Astros are hosting a part today for their fans. Pena has not said when he is coming back to Providence.
