State Jobless Rate Goes Up In Latest Report

Rhode Island's October unemployment rate was three-point-four percent.

The Department of Labor and Training reports that's up three-tenths of a percent from September's three-point-one percent.

State officials say the number of employed Rhode Island residents was 558,100, down 1,000 over the month and up 15,100 over the year. Since April 2020, the number of employed Rhode Island residents is up 112,000.

Last month's national jobless rate was three-point-seven percent, up two-tenths of a percent from September.
