Area Police Take Guns, Drugs Off City Streets

It has been a very busy week for two local police departments.

Providence and West Warwick police pulled nearly two-dozen guns and a lot of illegal marijuana off the street this week.

Providence Police on Friday announced that a large-scale investigation led to the arrest of Philip DeBartolo.

Authorities say when officers arrested DeBartolo they seized 44 pounds of black market weed, 20 firearms, several high-capacity magazines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Seven of the guns were untraceable ghost guns.

Police say DeBartolo was selling large amounts of illegal marijuana around the City of Providence.
