Providence College Hires New Men's Basketball Coach

The Providence Friars have apparently hired a new basketball coach.

There has been no official announcement yet, but Kim English has agreed to a multi-year contract.

English was on campus Wednesday, touring the basketball facilities, then agreed to a contract this morning.

There has been no word as to when the coach will meet with reporters, but most believe it will be next week.

The announcement of English as coach, comes less than 24 hours after Georgetown announced Ed Cooley would be their head coach. English has not spoken publicly about his new job, but he was quite clear as to where his heart is now.

On the coach’s Twitter page, the banner is that of the Providence Friars logo.

English comes to The Big East from the Atlantic Ten conference where he led the team to 20 wins.
