USDA Says State Is Clear On Hamburger Recall

The U-S Agriculture Department has announced a recall of beef sold in nine states -- including Connecticut -- over E. coli concerns.

The USDA says Elkhorn Valley Packing has announced a recall of more than 45-hundred pounds of boneless beef chuck product.

It was packaged on February 16th.

Anyone who thinks they may have bought the beef in question should check the USDA's website.

The beef can either be thrown out or returned to the store. The agency says nobody has become sick from the beef.

The beef was sold in stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts, but it does not in Rhode Island.

The recall is based on routine testing of the beef.
