Delegation: No Man Is Above The Law

Rhode Island's congressional delegation is sharing the message that nobody is above the law following the indictment of former president Donald Trump.

The criminal charges against Trump have not yet been made public, as the indictment from a New York grand jury is still under seal. But it marks the first time in U.S. history that a current or former president will face such charges.

Congressman David Cicilline, who introduced legislation to bar Trump from holding federal office last December, says the judicial process must remain free of interference or intimidation.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse says that it will be up to the courts to decide the guilt or innocence of the former president.

For his part Trump said that the indictment amounted to "an attack on this country."

Trump is expected to be arraigned next week on the charges.
