The new bishop of the Diocese of Providence says he's grateful to Pope Francis and to Bishop Thomas Tobin for the gift they have given him.
Richard Henning becomes the 9th bishop of Providence with today's news that Pope Francis has accepted Tobin's request to retire.
Henning was appointed as Bishop Tobin's successor last November and has worked along side him since then.
