Alleged Gang Leader To Be Sentenced In July

An alleged Providence gang leader has been convicted for a murder.

Jayquan Garlington allegedly caused the stabbing death of Darren Reagans Jr. in 2007.

Garlington was the alleged leader of the "YNIC" gang, while Reagans was a member of the rival Comstock gang.

Police said the stabbing happened during a fight outside La Rumba nightclub in Washington Park.

A judge made a ruling in 2020 which allowed the state to introduce rap lyrics by Garlington as evidence.

Garlington will be sentenced on July 12th.
