State Senator, Rep Seek Change In Solitary Confinment Protocols

A rally is being held at the Rhode Island State House on Tuesday to draw attention to suicides at the Adult Correctional Institutions.

State Senator Jonathon Acosta and Representative Leo Felix are drawing attention to the need to reform solitary confinement, and they have introduced legislation to address the issue.

"The action comes after three individuals incarcerated at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) have died by suicide in recent months. The family of Brian Rodenas, who died while in solitary confinement, will speak at the rally," the Senator said.

The rally is scheduled to be held at 2:45 this afternoon.
