A Pawtucket police officer has resigned during a process that was to determine grounds for his termination.
City officials announced Daniel Dolan had "irrevocably resigned" on Tuesday.
Dolan was the subject of a Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights, or LEOBOR trial in connection with the shooting of a teenager while off-duty in June 2021.
Dolan was cleared of criminal charges in January, but city officials remained concerned about his conduct.
The 40-year-old Dolan also faces separate charges in an arrest in Coventry in September.
