State Delays Ongoing Pursuit Of New Medicaid Contract

Rhode Island is canceling another bid for a multi billion-dollar Medicaid contract in the latest chapter of the ongoing saga.

The state Executive Office of Health and Human Services announced its decision to abandon the five-year, 15-billion dollar plan.

Outside insurance companies are currently vying to manage statewide Medicaid coverage.

The current Medicaid-managed care contract, that was set to expire this spring, is now extended through July of 2026.
