More than 600 motorcyclists have ordered Rhode Island shark license plates, and they are being put into production.
The Atlantic Shark Institute says the plates for passenger vehicles are already on the road and there will be a distribution event for the motorcycle plates in May.
ASI Executive Director Jon Dodd says the shark plate is the fastest-growing charity plate in Rhode Island history.
The plates feature a mako shark and 20-dollars of the 42-dollar-50-cent price for a set of plates will benefit the ASI.
