A new poll indicates that nearly half of Rhode Island voters believe the state is moving in the wrong direction.
The Fleming and Associates poll commissioned by the Rhode Island AFL-CIO found that 48-percent of respondents said the state is heading in the wrong direction, 29-percent felt the state is moving in the right direction and 23-percent said they were not sure.
The poll also showed that 70 percent of respondents were in favor of the minimum wage in the state going to 20 dollars an hour over the next five years.
The poll of 400 voters was conducted from February 1 through the 4th and 35-percent of respondents were Democrats, 14-percent were Republicans and 45-percent were independents.
The poll's margin of error is plus or minus four-point-nine percent.
