Cranston Police say an autistic woman who had been missing since March 19th has been found and her caregiver is facing charges.
Linda DaLomba was found Sunday afternoon in a vehicle parked at Pond and Station streets and police say she was conscious and alert when taken to Rhode Island Hospital for an evaluation.
An off duty Cranston Firefighter spotted the woman, knew she was in danger and called police.
Investigators say caregiver Roberta Gerard was taken into custody after giving conflicting stories regarding what happened on the day DaLomba went missing. Gerard is being charged with abuse, neglect, exploitation of an adult with severe impairment, and obstruction of an officer.
Arraignment is expected at any time.
