Two Pawtucket residents are safe after a fire broke out in their Cottage Street home on Thursday night.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 7 p.m. and found heavy fire and smoke coming from the house.
The residents had already escaped, and crews were able to rescue a cat that was still in the home.
Officials say the fire appears to have started in the basement and spread to the attic.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
