Rhode Island State Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in Foster.
A local resident found the remains in a wooded area off of Plainfield Pike Wednesday evening.
State Police say the remains belong to a female and the circumstances of her death are considered suspicious.
There is no word yet on the person's age, identity or cause of death.
State Police say their investigation is still in the preliminary stages.
