Western Mass Sees Above-Average Rainfall In March

Western Massachusetts is seeing an above-average amount of rainfall this month.

The region has seen three-point-eight-inches of rain so far in March, and a little more is expected this weekend.

The March average is about three-point-five-inches.

While the numbers are heading in the right direction, the U.S. Drought Monitor says most of Western Mass is still in a moderate drought.

State officials will meet next week to re access the drought situation in specific portions of the state.
