As of yesterday, a new law is in effect for solar panel sales companies in Rhode Island.
The intent is to hold them accountable for door-to-door selling tactics and contract terms.
Legislation was passed last year due to a spike in consumer complaints.
The law includes limiting door-to-door sales from ten a.m. to eight p.m., and requires a disclosure prior to a contract being signed that includes the names and contact information for sales reps and installers.
Consumers must also have seven days to cancel a signed contract.
