Governor Blasts GOP As Residents Face Rising Health Care Costs

Governor Dan McKee is blasting Congressional Republicans as Rhode Islanders face rising healthcare costs.

He says as the state enters the first full week of Open Enrollment for HealthSource RI, more than 40-thousand residents face higher premiums in 2026 because the Affordable Care Act's tax credits are set to expire.

McKee says allowing the tax credits to expire will push many families to the breaking point.

The governor says President Trump has a responsibility to get his party to the table to prevent the massive spikes in health care costs - and end the government shutdown.
