Majority Of Americans Share Personal Info With Websites They Don't Trust

No matter how many times we’ve been warned about Internet security, it seems people are still handing over their personal information to websites without thinking.

According to a new survey, 56% of Americans say they’ve given personal info to a website even though they didn’t completely trust it. What’s more, 25% of Americans say they take under six seconds to decide whether they trust a website enough to give it their personal info. Even more shocking, 20% of Americans say they would give their social security number to a website in order to shop there.

And while people may be quick to give their personal info to websites, the same can’t be said for the people in their lives. Turns out most folks would only feel comfortable giving their partner their credit card info after they’ve been together ten months. Not only that, it would take eight months before they felt confortable talking about their financial situation with a loved one, with some people saying it takes three months before they are even comfortable sharing their full name with a potential mate.

And believe it or not, even their Netflix password is precious to most people, with folks saying it would take six months before they shared it with a partner.
