Couple Finds Winning $1.8-M Lotto Ticket During Holiday Cleaning

Nobody likes cleaning the house, but it still needs to be done…most especially when it’s Thanksgiving Day and you’re hosting the family. But sometimes? That house cleaning ends up resulting in an accidental payday...especially for Harold and Tina Ehrenberg of Mandeville, Louisiana.

The couple was doing some holiday cleaning when they turned up a couple of unchecked lottery tickets. Once the chores were finished, they checked the tickets online…and discovered $1.8-MILLION almost went out with the trash.

There’s more, though. The tickets were for the June 8thdrawing of the Louisiana Lottery, which has 180-day window to cash them in – and that window would’ve closed on December 2nd. What will they do with the money? The Ehrenberg’s don’t have any extravagant plans…saying they’ll just going to use it for retirement and aren’t going to blow it on “anything crazy or any big trips.” Good plan!!
