It's no secret the Providence Journal circulation is down as most newspapers across the country see internet news providers siphoning off eyes, but the Pro-Jo still has plenty of pop. A Sunday Pro-Jo editorial put full support behind the proposed Pawsox stadium that House Speaker Nick Mattiello doesn't seem to have much of an appetite for. Matitello's on record saying many voters in his Cranston district are against the deal. Mattiello won re-election in his little Cranston kingdom by just 85 votes last time around. Let's face it, without Mattiello's support, the Pawsox proposal's dead in the water. The Journal asks what I've asked for months now...does Mr. Mattiello want to go down in history as the man who drove Triple A Baseball away from Rhode Island? Also, the Pro-Jo points out the Pawsox deal and the 38 Studios debacle is apples and oranges and asks if members of the legislature want to be remembered as the "geniuses"  who OK'd THAT complete waste of money yet chased away an already thriving RI institution. Let's hope those who buy "ink the barrel" still have some pop.
