The Providence Journal ran an editorial entitled "A comeback we don't need" in response to Former state rep John Carnevale's decision to get back into the political race. Carnavale...a two time BRUGLIONE OF THE WEEK....recently declared his candidacy in House District 13 despite the fact he's crimina charges that he lied when he claimed to be living at 150 Barbara Street in Providence. A state grand jury indicted him on three felony counts of perjury as well as a misdomeanor charge of filing a false document with the City of Providence to get a break on his taxes. Carnevale certainly deserves his day in court, and that's coming up later this month, but shouldn't local party leaders have waited until then to endorse him? Are these so called Democratic "leaders" blind to the fact this guy is under indictment? The Pro Jo's editorial call Carnevale's return and HIS ENDORSEMENT are troubling. It's beyond troubling to me. It shows how far away we are from shedding the title "the corruption state."
