Bold Point Park in East Providence has a new policy that's not settling to well with open air concert goers. Concertgoers will no longer be allowed to bring their own lawn chairs. The reason? Bold Point Park says it's over a safety concern. There's been no specific threat but GM Kate Spaziano says its an effort to be proactive and ensure patrons' safety. The venue doesn't have X-Ray machines to pass thru like an airport and apparently a recent security analysis suggests chairs were a serious cause for concern. So now we have to fear secret weapons inside lawn chairs....is nothing sacred? Here's the rub....the venue has ordered chairs that concert goers can RENT. Hmmmmmmm....concerns for patron security or a money grab? I'll leave THAT up to you.
