There's going to be some politics injected into the Super Bowl come February, with Sports Business Journal reporting that President Trump's re-election campaign is negotiating with Fox to air a campaign ad during the game, and had agreed on "broad terms." Thirty-second ads for the Super Bowl, which will be airing on February 2nd, are reportedly selling for as much as $5.6 million, but Yahoo Sports says it's unknown if that's what the Trump campaign would pay. It's unprecedented in recent history for such an ad to run during the Super Bowl, but Trump's campaign just aired an ad during the World Series last month, which reportedly cost $250,000. There have, however, been Super Bowl ads with more subtle politics to them since Trump's 2016 election.
I look at sports as a place to escape reality so I can certainly do WITHOUT an invasion of political ads.
