A Bryant University student open comedy night mic shtick offended many both on and off campus last week. Video of his attempt to get a few laughs posted on social media shows him saying he's "jealous about the fact black people are allowed to physically assault their children and I'm not. Can you imagine if a whaite person beat their kid? The whole country would grind to a halt. It's amazing. White people...we can't tell black people what to do anymore. We used to be able to. But we can't anymore." At that point in his rib tickling set, he was forced to surrender the mic. Bryant's Bias Incident Committee reviewed the video and determined that a "bias incident did occur." Quite the epiphany. Not only is this clown a bigot, nothing he said was FUNNY. Is there anything worse than someone who thinks they're funny but they're not? Think Lt. Steve in GOOD MORNING VIET NAM. It beats off key karaoke on the CREEPIOSITY meter every time. I see on the Bryant University web site the school's Creative Writing Club is holding an open mic poetry gathering November 30th. A word to the wise....anyone starting with "there once was a man from Pawtucket" is a clear sign danger lies ahead.
