The challenge RIers are facing in the battle to curb the spread of the corona virus COVID 19 is about to ramp up. Governor Raimondo placed new social distancing restrictions guidelines on Rhode Island businesses. Retailers and grocers are being ordered to allow no more than 20% of stated fire capacity in stores at a time. Staff will be required to count the number of people coming in and out and to enforce the limits. Stores are also being asked to designate employees to monitor social distance. I’m sure that’ll be a pleasant task. These new rules will stretch our patience a bit more but statistics show social distancing is working in our effort to curb the spread of the virus…So pack your patience, practice social distancing, wash those hands, use hand sanitizer if you can find any, disinfect surfaces and don’t think you’re a geek if you wear surgical gloves while shopping. Do the right thing…it’s the smart thing…and above all, be nice to each other.
