New Temporary Direct-Sale Commercial Fishing License Available


(Providence, RI)--The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is announcing a new, temporary license allowing commercial fishermen to sell certain kinds of seafood directly to consumers and retailers.The DEM says the goal is to help the state's commercial seafood industry remain viable during the coronavirus crisis.The Direct Sale Dealer License authorizes commercial fishermen in Rhode Island to sell certain species of finfish and to sell and transport live lobsters and crabs for sale directly to consumers and licensed seafood retailers from the vessel from which they're harvested.You can apply for a license on the DEM website.
