Joe Biden's son Hunter is being investigated by the US Justice Department in relation to his financial history. The probe began in 2018 and reportedly involves his business dealings with China and allegations of money laundering.
The revelation comes as the President-elect is preparing to pick his own Attorney General. That member of Biden's cabinet would oversee the investigation of his son that reportedly involves a grand jury and allegations of money laundering.
In a statement released Tuesday, Hunter Biden said: "I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisers."
Many news organizations refused to report on allegations of shady business dealings by Hunter Biden during the 2020 presidential election. Social media platforms censored or limited the spread of an October New York Post story that claimed Hunter's laptop was in the possession of federal investigators.
