(Providence, RI) -- An investigation is underway into why two dead whales have washed up onto Rhode Island shores. A dead Humpback whale washed ashore Tuesday near Mohegan Bluffs on Block Island. A dead Minke Whale was found yesterday at Scarborough State Beach in Narragansett. Animal Rescue and veterinary teams from Mystic Aquarium will analyze the remains and a necropsy will be performed on the humpback whale.
