REFUSING TO DEBATE COULD BITE CANDIDATES IN THE BUTT

Now there's a debate over debates. Both Governor Gina Raimondo and GOP hopeful Allen Fung aren't exactly warm to primary debates and their respective opponents are on the attack. Both Raimondo and Fung hold sizable leads over their campaign opponents and from a strategical standpoint why WOULD they want to debate. Indy candidate Joe Trillo and GOP hopeful Patricia Morgan haven't minced words in their reactions to the Governor and Fung's decision to avoid primary debates with Morgan calling Fung's decision a cowardly and deceitful political maneuver and Trillo calling Raimodno an elitist with a cocky attitude. Trillo going so far as saying it "sickens my political sensibilities. Raimondo's primary opponent Matt Brown says he wants EIGHT debates...how you can shoehorn than many head to heads in the remaining time until the September primary is beyond me. Still, I'd like both Raimondo and Fung to reconsider and do at least ONE televised debate as it would be nice to hear a wider variety of issues other than the stuff they're comfortable talking about.
