(Providence, RI) -- Today is the deadline for Rhode Islanders to register to vote in next month's primary election. Eligible residents can visit vote.ri.gov to register or update their voter information. The secretary of state's office says every city and town has made arrangements for residents to file via paper form even though today is a state holiday. The state also is reminding those who wish to vote by mail for next month's election that ballot applications must be submitted to their local board of canvassers by August 22nd.
