Settlement Announced For National Grid Customers

(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island Lieutenant Governor Dan McKee is announcing utility rate relief.McKee says the state Public Utilities Commission has approved a nearly-eight-million-dollar settlement which compensates consumers for over-collections made by National Grid after Congress passed the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which reduced National Grid's federal corporate tax rate.The savings will come in the form of a twelve-month utility rate reduction starting in July for electric customers and in November for gas.
