Singer David Olney Dies On Stage

(Santa Rosa Beach, FL)--Folk singer David Olney, a Rhode Island native, is dead after suffering an apparent heart attack during a performance this weekend.Olney was performing at a festival in Florida Saturday when he slumped in his chair and passed away on stage.He was a prolific songwriter who released over 20 solo albums over four decades, and his songs have been covered by famous singers including Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris.Olney, who was born in Providence and raised in Lincoln, was 71-years-old.
